| A
new green revolution is round the corner. At its vanguard is the Tata
Group, one of India's largest private-sector business groups and a
leader in the information technology domain. An innovative project
pioneered by the group's Tata Kisan Sansars (TKSs) is helping small
farmers harness sophisticated modern technology, such as satellite
mapping and geographical information systems,
to enhance the yield from their land.
The TKSs, or farm centres, provide end-to-end solutions, right from what crops to grow to how to sell them for the maximum returns. A unique concept in the Indian countryside, TKSs are changing the face of Indian agriculture and improving the quality of rural life. |
